Nicholas Kaufmann is the critically acclaimed author of numerous works of horror and suspense, including the Bram Stoker Award-nominated General Slocum’s Gold, the Thriller Award-nominated and Shirley Jackson Award-nominated Chasing the Dragon, the bestselling, Dragon Award-nominated 100 Fathoms Below, co-written with Steven L. Kent, and the bestselling The Hungry Earth.

In addition to his own original work, he has written for such properties as Zombies vs. RobotsThe Rocketeer, and Warhammer. His short fiction has appeared in Cemetery Dance, Black StaticNightmare MagazineInterzone, Cosmic Horror Monthly, and others. Professionally immersed in books his whole life, he’s been the Publicity Manager for a small literary press, a pitchman for a widely respected PR firm specializing in TV and radio author appearances, a bookstore clerk, an independent bookstore owner (the late, lamented Tell-Tale Books), a manager for Barnes & Noble, as well as the manager for a small indie video store. He lives in Brooklyn, NY.
